Corn Syrup Need Not Apply — The Casey’s Difference
Our Syrups
Casey’s uses 100% cane sugar in our house-made simple syrup. (Our sugar-free flavors are an exception and are made with an artificial sweetener.) After we flavor it, it's ready to be poured over some of our soft and fluffy snow.

We’re also proud to play the Great Game of Business. Each year, we work together to come up with a goal for making the business better and a reward for when we reach that goal.
Our average tenure for team members is 4+ years and we’re really proud to have such great retention with most team members coming back to work with us season after season.
We hit our goal at the end of the 2023 season and took a team trip to the arcade for bowling, laser tag, games, and plenty of snacks.

Who is Casey?
This is one of our most commonly asked questions. Casey's New Orleans Snowballs was founded in Austin by Suzy Casey Gallagher and Kit Thompson in 1996. Suzy Casey Gallagher is a member of the family that founded Casey's in Metairie, LA in the 1960s and is still going strong today. There is no relationship between the businesses.
In 1999 wife and husband Pattye Henderson and Cliff Chapman, frequent customers at Casey's in Austin, noticed that Suzy and Kit needed some help. Cliff ended up in the kitchen washing bottles and making syrups.
In 2008, Pattye and Cliff took over operations from Suzy and Kit. In 2012, as Pattye and Cliff began to think about their retirement, their son Mars took over the day-to-day operations. In 2017, Casey’s added catering and a bright blue food truck to their operations.
To the family, Casey’s is more than just a small business. It’s a way to have an impact on the local community. In 2013, they switched to all compostable serviceware as part of their belief that we can all do our small part to make the world a better place. And, in 2020, Casey’s became a member of Good Work Austin, an organization that works to ensure a quality workplace for all workers. In 2024, they debuted a brand new, zero-emission food truck for catering—the first in Austin!
For everyone in the family Casey's is more than a snowball stand. Pattye and Cliff both say, "a snowball can be the difference between a person having a bad day and a good day." Mars is continually shocked by the big smiles people get when handed a snowball. It's a simple, sweet treat that is as much fun to make as it is to eat.
As an Austin small business since 1996, Casey’s is proud to have second-generation customers who visited as kids and now bring their own children. We serve happiness in a cup and firmly believe there is no better job in the world.
